All plugins support a wide range of models from OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini, and many others - or run local models via Ollama when data must not leave your infrastructure.

AI Agent - Your Wiki’s Intelligent Assistant

Our flagship plugin goes far beyond a simple chatbot. The AI Agent can actively interact with your wiki: searching pages, reading content, and even editing pages on your command.

In Chat mode, the agent answers complex questions step by step - searching relevant pages, reading their content, and combining information from multiple sources. When you need more, switch to Edit mode and the agent can draft changes for you - always with your explicit confirmation before anything is saved.

You can create custom modes and tools tailored to your organization’s workflows. For example, let the agent query your website’s search, look up entries in a customer database, or pull data from internal APIs. Custom help topics teach the agent about your wiki’s conventions and terminology.

Large Language Models

LLMs are AI models trained on vast amounts of text that can answer questions, summarize content, translate languages, and generate text. Our plugins support models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral, and many more. You can also run local models via Ollama for full data sovereignty.

Retrieval-Augmented Generation

To answer questions about your content, the AI needs context. Our plugins index your wiki as vector embeddings and use semantic search to find the most relevant pages for any question. This way, answers are grounded in your actual wiki content, not generic AI responses.

AI Agents

A traditional chatbot generates a single response and is done. An AI Agent can reason and act in a loop: searching your wiki, reading pages, combining information from multiple sources, and even drafting edits with a diff preview before applying changes.

Security Built In

All our AI plugins fully respect DokuWiki’s ACL system. The AI can only read pages the current user has permission to view, and only edit pages the user has edit access to. No shortcuts, no bypasses.

Write operations always require explicit user confirmation before any changes are applied. Administrators can restrict AI access to specific users and groups, control which namespaces are indexed for RAG, and use content exclusion tags to keep sensitive information out of the AI’s context.

For maximum data sovereignty, run local models via Ollama. Your data never leaves your infrastructure.
